  • Senior Software Engineer (Web Development) - Design , prototype and develop software to support financial transactions. Built new associate training program. Documented standards, led code review sessions.
  • Software Engineer (Quality Assurance) - System verification, created an automation test framework, developed tests to ensure product functionality.

  • Director Of Product Development - Responsible for providing daily operational management to Developers, Quality Assurance, and Technical Support team members. I implemented several systems to support more efficient development and testing including a wiki , bug and project management system. Responsible for defining policies and practices to increase quality and efficiency of the product team. I lead technical discussions and architecture planning sessions resulting in a unified approach to many aspects of development.

  • Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Created automated tests and frameworks that support automated testing. Responsible for reducing the time required for product certification and also improving the quality of the product. Created a full featured C# framework that allows easily maintainable tests to be created efficiently.

  • Manager Of Technical Support - Managed daily operations of mid sized technical support center. Responsibilities included hiring, firing, coaching and staff development.
  • Senior Software Engineer (Professional Services) - Developed and delivered training sessions on cutting edge technologies to our partners.  Offered short term consulting and technical assistance to a wide range of clients around the world.
  • Programmer Analyst - Worked with sales and marketing team to determine software needs. Designed and built a call tracking system for internal use.
  • Senior Technical Support Specialist - Solved customer problems with desktop mapping software. Responsibilities included supporting "MapInfo Professional" and the "MapBasic" programming language on multiple platforms. Trained other support specialists on new product offerings. Developed systems to improve the efficiency of department.

Interests

Apart from being a software developer, I enjoy being outdoors with family. During the warmer months here in New York, I enjoy fishing, boating, and kayaking.

I enjoy wood working and metal working and I have several projects going on at any given time. I'm particularly interested in making tools and jigs that improve the capabilities of my shop.

I have been involved with bagpipe bands and have competed internationally several times.
